Over the course of five concerts Shostakovich-champions of the first hour, the french Quatuor Danel, will play all 15 quartets. They will present the quartets in chronological order, making this into a compelling journey through Shostakovich’ whole life. Besides the string quartet cycle the festival will feature lectures, workshops, masterclasses and presentations by young Dutch string quartets. There will be lunches on Saturday and Sunday, and on both evenings an exciting ‘Talking Dinner’ can be attended on the stage of the small hall.
