Van Baerle Trio & Maria Milstein join Ivy Artists
We are very proud to announce that as from today our artists list will be joined by the Dutch Van Baerle Trio and violinist Maria Milstein. Ivy Artists will be representing these fantastic musicians in Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg. At the same time Emma-Jane Wyatt is taking over their general management, which will bring the wonderful performances of both the trio and Maria to the rest of the world.
Ivy Artists and EJ-Arts have made a combined press release.

Emma Jane Wyatt is pleased to announce General Management for these musicians. Strengthened by collaborative partnerships in local territories, the artists are immediately signed to Marjon Koenekoop of Ivy Artists for local
management throughout the Benelux. Emma-Jane said “using the expertise of Marjon Koenekoop in the Benelux is going to serve the artists fantastically. We are all in such good contact, talking the same language, we will all be a strength to each other”. Marjon added: “It’s fantastic for these great musicians to have an experienced manager like Emma-Jane working for them internationally. I really look forward to working together with her to give the careers of Maria
and the Van Baerle Trio the boost they deserve”
Maria Milstein brings her cosmopolitan background to the fore when she steps on to the concert platform. Moscow-born, Maria completed her musical training in Amsterdam with Ilya Grubert, in London with David Takeno and Belgium with Augustin Dumay. Awarded the Dutch Music Prize in 2018 - the highest recognition for a classical musician in the Netherlands awarded by the ministry
of Culture - Maria Milstein has also been a prize winner of the “Premio Rodolfo Lipizer” and ARD Competition in Munich. In 2016 she was a Borletti Buitoni Trust Fellow in the UK. De Volkskrant, the Dutch national paper has observed: “Milstein is a big personality with her own very recognisable sound. This already makes her a rare breed in the violin universe. Her tone is full of nostalgia, depth and a certain fragility – reminiscent of the young Menuhin…”.
Maria Milstein performs with many of the Dutch orchestras recently being described by De Volkskrant newspaper as “phenomenal” in her performance of the European premiere of Alexander Raskatov’s violin concerto, “In Excelsis” with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic and Otto Tausk. Maria will next make her debut with the Essen Philharmonic under Music Director, Thomas Netopil, returning to the Concertgebouw’s Bank Giro Loterij Summer Concerts (formerly
Robeco Summer Concerts) and to the hall’s Sunday morning series, broadcast live on national radio as soloist with Zuid Nederlands Philharmonic.
Sharing creativity between sisters, the Milstein Duo with Maria’s sister Nathalia Milstein, a pianist graduate at the Barenboim-Said Academy in Berlin and winner of the Dublin International Piano Competition, also performs in the Benelux and France. This summer anticipates the release of their second duo, ‘Ravel Voyageur’. Of their debut disc of French works ‘La Sonate de Vinteuil’ on
the Mirare label, de Volkskrant wrote: “There are no technical limitations. The sisters feel totally free to play as fast and as soft as they want. The result is breathtaking."

Maria Milstein would not be the charismatic and communicative soloist she is without the foundation of much of her chamber music training within the Van Baerle Trio. Founded amongst friends in 2004, the Van Baerle Trio, also including pianist Hannes Minnaar (also recently signed to EJ-Arts for General Management) and cellist Gideon den Herder, bears its name founded no less on the street where it all started, Van Baerle Street in Amsterdam. Within a short walk is their musical home, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw Hall, in which the Trio regularly performs and after an appearance at the La Grange de Meslay Festival next month the trio returns to the Concertgebouw performing on the Summer Giro Bank Loterij Series.
An impressive discography on Challenge Records of French works, followed by a Mendelssohn disc leads on to the complete set of the Beethoven piano trios. The project will be completed with a recording of Beethoven’s Triple concerto released in the Beethoven anniversary year with The Residentie Orchestra conducted by Jan Willem de Vriend. The first disc of the project in 2018 has already won high praise with Gramophone noting: “The overwhelming quality of this new disc is a quite irresistible freshness: played with an inquisitive spirit, a spring-like clarity and (when necessary) a daredevil verve”.
