We are very happy to be able to anounce that our young, French Quatuor Arod won first prize at the prestigious ARD-Musikwettbewerb Competition 2016 in the category string quartet. You can listen to their playing during the finals with the following link: Quatuor Arod & ARD
Formed in 2013 the Quatuor Arod already won the 1st prize at the International Chamber Music Competition Carl Nielsen in Copenhagen in 2015. A year earlier they got the 1st prize at the FNAPEC Europe Competition and the special ProQuartet-CEMC award. The Arod is now in residence with ProQuartet. The quartet lives in Paris.
In 2016 they can be heard in Centre de Musique de Chambre and the Auditorium du Louvre in Paris, the Festival "Musique à l'Emperi' and they have their debut concerts in Berlin, Köln and at Musikfest Bremen. Quatuor Arod has been invited by festivals such as Verbier, Septembre Musical de Montreux, Menton, Août Musical de Deauville, Quatuor à l'Ouest, Ré Majeure and Quartettissimo in Hungary.
They study with Jean Sulem (Quatuor Rosamonde) they are quartet in residence with the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Bruxelles since September 2014 where they study with the Artemis Quartet.
Their first CD, with Mendelssohn, will be released in season 2016-17.
